Ready to Run Class
- It is the intention of the Virginia On Road Racing Assoc. (VORRA) to promote family-oriented racing. With this in mind, unruly or un-sportsmanlike conduct (intentional hammering or rough driving, abusive language toward other racers, turn marshals etc.) will not be tolerated. People found to be in violation will be given only one warning. You will be asked to leave for a second offense. People under the influence of alcohol or drugs will be asked to leave.
- All racers and pit members are required to have (and show proof of ) a valid ROAR membership. Membership applications are available at the track, and can be found on the ROAR website at www.roarracing.com.
- No one under the age of 12 is allowed to pit a car or turn marshall without written consent of the parent.
- Club Safety Rules, written or common practice, are to be followed at all times. VORRA members & non-members are responsible for maintaining safe conditions for everyone (drivers, pit personnel, spectators, etc) while at the track. This includes keeping your pit area free of trip hazards.
- The arbitration codes/guidelines apply to disputes between VORRA members resulting from violations of club safety rules, or damage to property or persons during the operation of radio controlled cars and trucks, or conduct unbecoming VORRA members.
- All drivers are responsible for their own tables, chairs, tools, cars, tnets, and any other personal belongings brought to the track. VORRA does not accept responsibility for personal belongings or damage resulting from such belongings. (Secure your tents!)
- All radios should have changeable frequencies and at least one alternate set of frequency crystals. Two sets of alternate frequencies is recommended.
- No radios are to be turned on without a frequency pin in place. Anyone who turns on a radio without a frequency pin will be given only one warning. You will be asked to leave if there is a second offense.
- All racers MUST track marshal the race immediately following theirs, or have an eligible replacement. You MUST let the race director know of the substitution. Anyone who does not track marshal will be assessed a penalty lap.
- Racers must remove their car from the track immediately after their race to permit the next race to be started. All loaner transponders are to be removed and returned to the race director, and the car placed on the table beside the race director. This is to help with accounting for the track marshals and our equipment.
- At no time, can cars be run anywhere outside of the track barriers. Anyone running their car outside of the track will be asked to leave. This is to reduce the chance of damage to vehicles and spectators on the lot, and is required through our agreement with the parking lot owners and insurance company.
- Updated:(3/29/06) Racers will be charged a $25 entry fee ($20 if you are a club member). When a racer arrives at the parking lot before 9:00 am and helps to set up the track he/she will receive $5 back. If he/she help to take down the track, he/she will receive $5 back resulting in a $15 race fee for ($10 if you are a club member) for the day. There will be a $5 charge for each additional class a paid participant enters.
This fee does not include ROAR membership which is an additional $35 for a complete year's membership. ROAR memberships are available at the track.
- When re-fueling, the car must be removed from pit lane and refueled behind the wall. Any repairs to cars (this includes re-starts) must be done outside of the track boundaries. If repairs are needed, the engine is to be shut down while repairs are made. After the car is serviced, it is to be placed back onto pit lane so it can move safely back onto the racing surface.
- Only one pit man will be allowed to service a car within the pit lane area.
- All cars must run a body that is securely fastened to the car at all times during the race.
- Electric races will be 6 minutes in length. Nitro heats will be 5 minutes in length. Nitro mains will be 10 minutes in length. Races will consist of 2 qualifying heats and a main event. All racers will race in a main. Winners of lower mains will be permitted to bump up into the next higher main . There will be a 5 minute warm up period in between heats.
- In case of frequency conflict, the lower qualifier will be required to change.
- Switching drivers during qualification or mains is NOT permitted.
- Switching cars during the main event is NOT permitted. The car you start with must be the car you finish with.
- Classes listed below are guidelines. If we have any other class that wish to race, they will be allowed to do so if time permits. Any class that has 4 or more cars will run in their own class. Classes that have less than 4 cars will be combined and run together, but scored separately. The race director reserves the right to not allow un-scheduled classes depending on weather, time restraints, lack of cars, etc.
- The schedule for race day is arranged to try to allow for as much practice and race time as possible. Races can be delayed a few minutes if necessary, but if time is running short, the race director reserves the option to not allow a delay in the start of the race . We will try to stick to this schedule as closely as possible. Please note that during daylight savings time, we will loose 1 hr open practice time. Example- open pratice, sign up will only be until 10:45 instead of 11:45. Also, remember every effort will be made to have the track setup before 10:00, so everyone should still have more than enough practice time.
- 8:00-10:00 Track setup
- 10:00-11:15 Open practice, sign up, & lunch (you provide, not us)
- 11:15-11:30 Driver's Meeting (MANDATORY)
- 11:30-2:15 Qualifying heats
- 2:30- ?? Main Events
